Theme:

Biography:
The "Space Man" in Doctor Who refers to several characters who have ventured into space, but most prominently relates to Major Tom Campbell, played by Mark Dexter in the two-part story "The Impossible Astronaut" and "Day of the Moon" (2011).
Campbell was a NASA astronaut recruited by the Silence to wear an advanced spacesuit. This suit concealed the Silence's influence, allowing them to manipulate events on Earth. His purpose was to create a distraction and eliminate witnesses during the Silence's activities.
Although appearing as a menacing figure in the spacesuit, Campbell himself was not inherently evil. He was a pawn used by the Silence. He was ultimately killed, presumably by the Silence, after his helmet was removed, exposing him to the alien presence he unknowingly served.
The spacesuit itself also holds significance, becoming a recurring image associated with the Silence and representing a symbol of their covert control. Thus, the term "Space Man" encapsulates both the individual astronaut and the unsettling presence they represented.
